Experience. Through the past 25 years, I have been honored to work for amazing nonprofit clients that do incredible work to further the arts, education, health and human services. The list is long and diverse. I have helped private schools, women’s shelters, symphonies, children’s homes, faith-based organizations and more. I will be more than glad to share a list of clients upon request.
I mention this diversity because I’ve encountered almost every situation and seen almost every stage that organizations go through as they strive to improve their fundraising and operations.
How I’m Different. One big thing sets my service apart from many others in the nonprofit world. I don’t want to make you dependent on me, but rather I want to build the skills within your organization that will ignite and sustain momentum over time. I am a trainer, a facilitator, a capacity builder.
Of course, I will develop plans and generate ideas, but this will be in collaboration with you, so you gain the tools you’ll need for long-term success. When I finish my engagement, your organization will be stronger, more resilient and more sustainable.
Expertise. I love all types of fundraising, but capital campaigns are a particular passion of mine because they can have such a big impact on an organization. I have helped nonprofits raise capital campaign totals from $1 million to $8 million.
In addition, I have extensive experience in creating fundraising development plans, researching grant opportunities and writing proposals.
Credentials/Ethics. As a long-term member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP), I strictly follow its ethical fundraising practices. I attained the respected Certified Fund Raising Executive designation in 2004 and maintain this designation by re-certifying every three years. Only about 6,000 fundraising professional worldwide hold this certification. I was honored to receive the 2010 Outstanding Fundraising Professional Award from the AFP Texas Plains Chapter in Amarillo, TX.
